Evening with the Festival Players As promised, here are the details for this year's Evening with the Festival Players. For those not in the know, this is a cabaret evening full of songs, sketches and poems performed by our very own members, including a special group number directed by Tommy, and will be hosted by our very own Sweeney, Warren Clark. Anyone is free to do an act, but please let me know so that I can compile an order of play! Where: Newton Village Hall. (CB22 7PA) When: 7.30pm, Saturday 1st August, 2009. Cost: Members £7 with an optional additional £1 donation for non-members. Who: Friends and family all welcome - make a night of it! What you get: An evening of fun entertainment and a meal. Please bring your own drink. What you need to do: If you'd like to come, please contact Anna to let her know numbers and if you have any special dietary requirements. Booking your tickets is essential as places are limited to 64 (including performers). Please also confirm with me even if you've hit the "attending" button on the facebook event so I know for sure you're intending to come. :D If you'd like to perform: Please contact Anna to let me know what you'd like to do, who is doing it and whether you'll need accompaniment. Also let me know if you'd like to be involved in the group number. Please let me know by 18th July, particularly if you would like to be in the group number. If you're not sure what you'd like to do is suitable, ask me anyway! If you have never done anything like this before and don’t want to do anything on your own but don’t have anyone to do something with then we are likely to be meeting up in a pub sometime in late June/early July. This will be an opportunity to swap ideas and team up with others before you commit. John Marsh has kindly agreed to accompany us on the piano again this year, so please let him have a copy of your music ahead of time to give him a fighting chance and must reach him no later than 18th July. There will be rehearsal times on Sunday 26th July from 2-5pm and again from 2-6pm on Saturday 1st August, and if you would like to be in the group number you must be able to attend these two sessions. Once I have a list of acts, I can give you a better breakdown of when you'll be needed on these two days. :) Don't forget that performers need to buy tickets for the event too! I can't express enough how fun this event was last year, so I hope the turn out will be just as stellar this year and we continue to go from strength to strength.
