The Oklahoma! cast and production team

Director
Nigel Murfitt

This is Nigel's debut as a director for Festival Players, although he directs regularly at Ely and at the Mumford. Nigel is also a very accomplished performer, creating wonderful characters in productions with many local groups, including CaOS. He claims that one of his favourite roles is Jud Fry in "Oklahoma!" having played it with Festival Players in 1977.

Musical Director
Brian 'Tommy' Thomas

Tommy is following up his successful combination of the roles of director and musical director for last year's "South Pacific" by concentrating solely on music this year. He is a vastly experienced Musical Director with over 80 productions to his credit.

Choreographer
Toni Grantham

We are very happy to welcome a new choreographer to the company - Toni Grantham. Toni teaches dance for Prime Movers, a local dance company, and performs frequently with Pied Pipers. She has also choreographed "Oklahoma!" before for Delight Productions.

Curly
Julian Davies

This is Julian's second show for Festival Players, having played Cable in last year's "South Pacific". Other recent credits include Gary in the rock and roll musical, "A Slice of Saturday Night" and Seymour in "Little Shop of Horrors". He has also appeared in several operettas, including SWAOS's acclaimed "Die Fledermaus", in which he played Alfredo .

Laurey
Catriona Nicol

Catriona returns to Festival Players this year after a short absence. Her leading roles with Festival Players have included Hope Harcourt in "Anything Goes".

Aunt Eller
Stephanie Waller

Steph's last appearance for Festival Players was "Oh What a Lovely War!" In 1995. She has appeared with several different groups, notably Shakespeare at the George and Combined Actors in Midnight Folk at the ADC. Steph directed Meridian Theatre's winning play Colours at Sawston Drama Festival in March 2002.

Will Parker
Dave Smithet

Dave is a regular leading man with both Festival Players and SWAOS, having played the leading role in such shows as "Singin' in the rain", "Anything Goes" and "Carousel". This is his 6th year with us.

Ado Annie Carnes
Lea Chambers

This is Lea's first show with Festival Players since she moved to Cambridge last summer. Before that she was a long-standing member of Shenfield Operatic Society in her home town of Brentwood, Essex. She has played a number of principal roles, including Adelaide in "Guys and Dolls", Hodel in "Fiddler on the Roof" and her favourite: "Sweet Charity".

Ali Hakim
Warren Clark

This is Warren's first show with Festival Players although he has played many leading roles in musicals such as "Kiss Me Kate", "The Pajama Game" and "The Boyfriend", and plays such as "The Alchemist", "The Crucible" and "All My Sons" (for which he won a Best Supporting Actor award in his native Bromley). Warren works as an editor for a contract publishing company in Cambridge.

Jud Fry
Andy Waller

Oklahoma! is Andy's fourth show for Festival Players, last year playing Commander Harbison in "South Pacific". Recently he has written and appeared in Colours at the Sawston and Cambridge Drama Festivals with Meridian Theatre. He has been in numerous productions locally with different Groups, including Bawds and Combined Actors.

Andrew Carnes
Joe Oakes

Joe is a latecomer to amateur dramatics, having joined Festival Players in 1979 hoping to improve his public speaking voice. The voice may not have got much better, but he has been hooked by the fun of going on stage! Joe is now in his 22nd show with Festival Players, his first being "My Fair Lady".
