| Director
Nigel Murfitt
Our Director this year will be Nigel Murfitt.
He expertly played the part of Fred/Petruchio in our recent production
of 'Kiss me, Kate'. He last directed for Festival Players in our
2002 award-winning production of 'Oklahoma!' |
Musical
Director
Tommy Thomas
An incredibly talented Musical Director with
over 100 shows to his credit, Tommy's provides that certain 'Je
ne sais qu'oi' that makes his musical direction popular with cast
and audiences alike. |
Choreographer
Toni Grantham
Toni is an energetic, dynamic choreographer - and no mean singer and dancer herself! She last choreographed for Festival Players in 'Crazy for You', and we expect even more exciting choreography from her for this year's show. |
Director's Assistant
Suzanne Emerson
This is Suzanne's debut as Director's assistant. She played the role of Lois/Bianca in last year's 'Kiss me, Kate' and is now keen to experience a production from a different viewpoint. |

|
Dolly
Levi
Linda Thomas
A Cambridge favourite, Linda has a musical
CV as long as your arm, and is well known for her fabulous singing
voice. She won rave reviews for last year's portrayal of Lily/Kate
in 'Kiss me, Kate' and we expect no less of her this year as the
effervescent Dolly. |
Horace
Vandergelder
Stephen von Schreiber
An American in real life, Stephen's acting
has won him many plaudits, and we are looking forward to his debut
performance with the Festival Players as the tightfisted Vandergelder.
|
Irene Molloy
Catriona Nicol
Catriona last played a lead for us in the award winning 'Oklahoma!', as Laurey. She has since taken a number of roles with CAOS, and is looking forward to her return to Festival Players as the mischievous widow Irene. |
Cornelius Hackl
Thomas O'Connor
This is Thomas's first show with Festival Players after his widely acclaimed portrayal of Motel in the Pied Pipers' production of 'Fiddler on the Roof'. We are all eagerly anticipating his characterisation of the wildly innocent Chief Clerk, Cornelius.
|
Barnaby Tucker
Matt Gregory
Matt has had a busy run of shows in the last year, playing sleazy Bill/Lucentio in last year's 'Kiss me, Kate', pitiable Geoffrey in Fledgling's 'Stepping Out', and charismatic Perchik in Pied Pipers' 'Fiddler on the Roof'. He is looking forward to playing a comedy role this year with Barnaby. |
Minnie Fay
Kath Lees
A regular member of Pied Pipers and Fledgling Productions, this is Kath's first show with Festival Players. She playes a wonderfully flighty Minnie - although she is starting to worry that she is getting typecast as a flibbertigibbet after her recent portrayal of Sylvia in Fledgling Productions' 'Stepping Out'. |
Ermengarde
Vandergelder
Janice Chambers
A regular Festival Players and CAOS member
and a talented singer, Janice is looking forward to playing the
tearful, sobbing, wailing Ermengarde. Let's hope she doesn't run
out of tissues. |
Ambrose
Kemper
Alan Hay
Alan is as comfortable backstage as he is
onstage, although his recent performances as a Gangster in last
year's 'Kiss me, Kate' and Lazar Wolf in Pied Pipers' 'Fiddler
on the Roof' have won him many fantastic reviews. Alan is never
one to do a role by half. |
Rudolf
Mike Husband
One of our most talented actors, Mike has won just about every Best Actor award going for the last few years at local drama festivals. Even so, he still manages to be one of the most modest and unassuming men in the cast and a real gentleman. |
Judge
Simon Merrington
Simon is a long-standing member of the group who has played a variety of parts in our last few shows. He was particularly memorable as Harry/Baptista in 'Kiss me, Kate' and Moose, a member of the cowboy trio, in 'Crazy For You'. |
Ernestina
Money
Pippa Taylor
Pippa has taken several prime roles recently,
including Mother in Festival Players' 'Crazy for You' and Mrs
Fraser in Fledgling Productions' 'Stepping Out'. She is looking
forward to playing the over-painted, undercooked Miss Money. |
